I ntroduction

             The 7th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games will be hosted by the Philippines on 08-11 December 2012. Said Games is expected to once again gather together athletes and sports enthusiasts from the various focus areas of the BIMP-EAGA member countries in a fun-filled and significant friendly sports competitions which aims to further promote peace, solidarity and camaraderie among member-nations through sports. 

            This year’s edition of the Games will be held in Provinces of Sarangani, South Cotabato and General Santos City in Mindanao, Philippines. This is the third time for the country to host such event.

            The following are the seven (7) sports to be contested in this year’s BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games:

                        Badminton

                        Lawn Tennis

                        Pencak Silat (Seni)

                        Sepak Takraw

                        Swimming

                        Table Tennis

  

            There will also be a Golf tournament for Heads of Delegations and Ministers attending the Friendship Games.

D uration of the Games

 

The Friendship Games will be held on 8-11 December 2012.

 

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

 

The Opening Ceremony will be in the afternoon of 08 December 2012, at Acharon Sports Complex, General Santos City.

 

The Closing Ceremony on 11 December 2012 will be at the Sarangani Provincial Capitol, Province of Sarangani.

The four (4) colors of the circles of the 7th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games Logo represent the four (4) member countries. The intertwined oval rings in the logo represent Brunei Darussalam (blue), Indonesia (yellow), Malaysia (red) and the Philippines (green).

 

The hand shake reflects the friendship, peace and solidarity between the four countries.

TRADE SHOW

 

            Along with the conduct of the 7th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games is the launch of a cultural, tourism and trade exhibits which will be at SM City Gensan. This is considered the cultural component of the Friendship Games.

 

            The trade show was conceptualized in order to promote the focus areas of each BIMP-EAGA member countries through tourism, culture, services, culinary and trade presentations.

 

            Cultural presentations of each country can also be witnessed at the trade show/exhibit, with the following schedule:
